A person asked Bhattar "Why don't Srivaishnavas worship other devatas?"

Bhattar replied "Doubts in this should happen only if we see something different in the sastras; since we don't, there is no need for such doubts."

He then added "Those who are with sattva gunas should be seeked by those under rajas and tamas gunas; not the other way around."

That is, because of their guNas and doshas, other devatas are not qualified to be seeked by His devotees.
