One time Bhattar had walked a long way during the day and stopped in a wayside in the evening. There, being tired, he rested his head in Nanjeeyar's lap and fell asleep. All night long Nanjeeyar sat without moving his body or moving Bhattar's head.

That is, a disciple realizes his true nature only when performing selfless and complete service to his acharya.
