Vyakhyana Saram:
In Bhagavat Ramanuja's kitchen worked the great acharya Kidambi Achchan. Through him comes a sampradhaya lineage up to Kidambi Appullar. Kidambi Appullar was the maternal uncle of Desikan and was also his acharya. This sampradhayam is praised by Swami Desikan as "ethivaranAr madaippaLLi vandha maNam" and "iti yatirAja mahAnasa parimaLa parivAha". In this shloka, he praises the same and states that the meanings of this great sampradhayam are being revealed through this work ("yatIshvara mahAnasa sampradAyam iha pashyantu"). Such a sampradhayam has several great meanings. To show that this work reveals the meanings of Sharanagati, he states "prapadana pravaNA: mahAnta: pashyantu", asking the great souls that follow the path of Sharanagati to enjoy this work .

In Srivaishnava fashion, he practices naichyAnusandhAnam by saying that his speech is lowly. Yet, he says, because of the greatness of the subject, the work does not lose its quality. Similar to Thondaradippodi Azhvar saying "iLaiya pun kavidhaiyElum empirARku iniyavARE".

The words of our Azhvars and Acharyas just did not come out of them - it was the Lord who was saying them first ("munnuru") and they simply repeated it ("pinnuru"). Azhvar too says "thannaith thAnE thudhiththu" and "yAnAyth thannaith thAn pAdi" - Thiruvaymozhi 10-7.
