Bhattar's attachment to Srirangam and Namperumal was legendary. For everything in the sampradhayam, he would see it in Srirangam itself.

One time Bhattar was discoursing and mentioned that in Srirangam all positions of the Lord can be seen: Lying down, Standing and Sitting.

Not following him, his disciples asked him to explain.

Bhattar replied "Periya Perumal is lying down; Namperumal is standing and Thayar is sitting down".

His disciples replied "That's not right. Azhvar refers only to the Lord when he talks about his different poses. Thayar cannot be included in that".

Bhattar then replied "The Lord in Srirangam does have the sitting pose also. When He puts on mOhini alankAram, He gets into that pose".
