Bhattar was once discoursing on Thirumangai Azhvar's Siriya Thirumadal. In the pasurams, there is a description of Sri Krishna's act of stealing butter while Yasoda is gone and then being caught by her.

One of the lines goes "thArAr thadanthOLkaL uLLaLavum kai neeti", describing Krishna as putting his hands up to his shoulders into the pot with butter.

Nanjeeyar asked Bhattar "Yasoda would have figured out that Krishna stole the butter; but how did she know that He had put his hands up to his shoulders into the pot?"

Bhattar replied "Yasoda knew it because she saw the turmeric from Sri Krishna's shoulders and body that had rubbed off on the edges of the pot".
