The following story is mentioned by Nampillai.

When Nambi Thiruvazhuthi Valanadu Dasar was close to leaving this world, a Srivaishnava paid him respect and then started crying on seeing his condition.

Dasar then told him "I am the one who is going to leave this world. Why are you, who is going to continue to listen to Parasara Bhattar, crying?"

That is, being with acharya is greater than even being in His abode.
