Bhattar mentioned the following about the greatness of Thiruppavai. "Srivaishnavas should wake up early in the morning every day and recite all thirty pasurams."

Someone wondered if there was enough time each day to recite all thirty. To which, Bhattar replied "If that is not possible, they should recite at least the 29th 'pasuram - siRRam siRu kAlE."

Presumably, there was a person who thought he did not have time even for that (perhaps representing us). Bhattar answered that "For those whom even that is not possible, they should at least remember the state of those people (such as Bhattar himself), who are deeply immersed in Thiruppavai."
