In the work Vishnu Dharmam, it is said that as the Lord walked in the form of Vamana to the yaga being performed by Mahabali, the Earth trembled.

Some people asked some scholars the meaning behind this. The scholars replied "Since He is the Lord of everything, as He walked, the Earth trembled in fear".

Nanjeeyar asked Bhattar if this interpretation was correct.

Bhattar replied "That's not right. The Lord had never before asked anyone for anything. This was the first time He was going to do that. Because of that, He was anxious and as such He walked so hard that the Earth shook".
